In Chiaravalle an evening in support of Amop: the book by Stefano Villaggi is presented

The presentation event of the book “Lott Meraviglia” by Stefano Villaggi, edited by Sergio Efosi, is scheduled for May 25th, at 9 pm at the Chiaravalle della Colomba Abbey. “Fighting Wonder” tells the story of twelve crosses distributed throughout the territory of our province, which can constitute a spiritual pilgrimage route. The twelve crucifixes are found in Val Chero, Val Trebbia, Val d’Arda, Val Nure and Val d’Ongina, and precisely in Piacenza – Chiesa Sacra Famiglia (2006); Ferriere, Monte Carevolo (2014); Sperongia – Chiesa (2015); Bacedasco Loc. Gasperini-Chiesa (2017); San Michele, Morfasso (2017); Santa Franca, Morfasso (2019); Tabiano-Lugagnano (2019); Filippazzi, Coli (2020); Vernasca, Loc. Vitalta (2022); Alseno-Castelnuovo Fogliani (2023); Bacedasco-private (2023); Lugagnano, Madonna del Piano (2023).

The title “Fighting Wonder”, without apostrophe, was coined for the eighth crucifix created by Stefano Villaggi and positioned in Filippazzi di Coli, in honor of every single victim of Covid-19, who fought with all his strength while the nature regenerated itself wonderfully far from man closed at home. The works are all different, each with a unique meaning, but linked by a common theme: the emptiness of the structure of the crosses, which can be penetrated by the elements of nature. This allows the sacredness of the form to integrate with the sacredness of the environment, whose colors change from season to season. During the event, it will be possible to contribute with an offer to support the AMOP Association (Association of Piacenza Cancer Patients) and admire the reproductions of the crosses made by the children of the AFADI Association (Association of disabled families of Fiorenzuola) during the fretwork workshop. It will be an opportunity to give your support to such an important cause as oncology and appreciate the work of AFADI artists.

Professor Luigi Cavanna will be present, who will share his experience and commitment in the field of oncology, together with Romina Piergiorgi, President of the AMOP Association, and Lorena Carloni, AMOP volunteer and collaborator in the organization of the event, who will illustrate the work of the association and the importance of community support. The evening will be hosted by Federica Bussandri, who has always been linked to the world of volunteering and president of the AFADI Association. The event will be enriched by touching musical performances by local choirs: Coro Val Nure, Coro Santa Maria delle Grazie and Coro Gerberto di Bobbio. Massimo Rossi, who coordinated the choirs and contributed to the organization, will be present to share his experience. During the evening, profound gratitude will be expressed towards those who made the project possible: among these, the Tipografia Edizioni Tip.Le.Co of Piacenza and the UPA Unione Provinciale Artigiani Association who provided fundamental support. Pietro Bragalini, as director of the association, will speak during the event. We also acknowledge the contribution of all the other sponsors and volunteers who generously supported this initiative.

The evening will be a unique occasion in which the art of Villaggi, the voices of the choirs and the solidarity support towards AMOP will merge into a single embrace of solidarity. This is a tribute not only to the artists and volunteers who made this event possible, but also to the synergy with AFADI, which symbolizes the goal of inclusion of disabled children. It will be a moment where everyone comes together for a single purpose, proving that together we can make a difference.
