Cuneo is one of the 98 Italian municipalities described in the “Guide to Italian Sustainable Municipalities”, the editorial initiative of the Network of Sustainable Municipalities, which has collected stories of sustainable tourism across the Peninsula. The preview presentation of the Guide took place at the Turin Book Fair on Friday 10 May. Published by Edizioni ETS, the Guide will be available in bookshops and online from 24 May (while on the ETS website, https://www.edizioniets.com/, it is already on sale).

This is how the Network of Sustainable Municipalities explains: “The Italy of the future is rediscovered through the beauty of its territories, more or less large, more or less known, but equally unique and unforgettable. The Italy of the future is a journey made of stories, sustainability and wonder. Almost a hundred municipalities and over a thousand good practices described to tell the story of the Italy that tries, the Italy of mayors and local administrators who believe that sustainable development and tourism can go hand in hand. With the Guide it is possible to discover new destinations even for travelers who choose sustainable, slow, accessible, green and smart tourism and who in these pages can find many good reasons to visit the cities and towns of the Sustainable Municipalities Network, among recovered goods through urban regeneration projects and redeveloped green areas. It can also become an important point of reference for administrators to discover virtuous experiences and replicate good practices and successful models. Inside there are sustainability places to visit, with a description of the main information and characteristics and an overview of the virtuous experiences of sustainable communities. On the part of the Administration there is satisfaction for having contributed to the composition of this first edition of the Guide of Italian Sustainable Municipalities. The result is a tourist story of the city seen through the lens of good sustainability practices experienced in our territory. This guide is a further showcase for Cuneo, it is the awareness of being part of a shared effort of transformation in the sense of sustainability, it is an opportunity to also learn from the other cities in the network of sustainable municipalities.
