Journey from the Hill to the Sea: Final Exhibition of the Artistic Project of the IC Faenza San Rocco

In recent days, at the “Martiri di Cefalonia” primary school complex of the IC Faenza San Rocco, the exhibition was held, sponsored by the Municipality of Faenza, entitled “Journey from the hill to the sea, crossing Faenza”. This exhibition represented the final act of the “Three-Year Plan of the Arts” project, promoted by the Ministry of Education, to encourage the learning, practice, creation and historical-critical knowledge of artistic languages. The project also aims to enhance cultural heritage, both historical and contemporary. The IC Faenza San Rocco project, the only one financed in the province of Ravenna, was coordinated by the teacher Emanuela Solaroli. It involved various institutions and schools including the “Torricelli – Ballardini” high school, the “Persolino – Strocchi” high school, SISAM of Ravenna and the art gallery.

The exhibition presented a vast range of works, ranging from the creation of mosaics, to works performed with prehistoric techniques, ceramics and graphic works. Among the most significant routes, there was the treasure hunt through the streets of the center of Faenza, carried out in collaboration with the “Torricelli – Ballardini” high school. This activity, carried out in English and with the identification of clues in Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC), allowed students to interact with the local cultural heritage in a dynamic and innovative way.

The central theme of the exhibition and the project was the reworking of the environmental, historical and artistic elements of the territory, following an ideal path from the hill to the sea. Students had the opportunity to explore and reinterpret the riches of their environment, integrating different artistic and historical disciplines.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between schools and cultural institutions to promote art and culture. Initiatives like this enrich students’ educational journey and make them more aware of the cultural heritage that surrounds them.
