Discovering 130 buildings open to the public free of charge: Open House Turin returns

On the first weekend of June 2024, Turin will host the seventh edition of a free event celebrating points of local historical interest. This is Open House Turin, which allows the public to explore homes, buildings and sites normally closed to visitors for free, offering the opportunity to immerse themselves in the architectural variety of the city’s urban fabric. These are historical constructions such as interior design and views of the metropolis. During this annual weekend you will have the opportunity to learn about structures of historical, modern and contemporary importance, private residences, offices, green areas and community spaces and urban restoration projects of particular value. The first edition of Open House in Turin dates back to 2017, which immediately proved to be a great success, with over 38 thousand visits and around 15 thousand visitors to over one hundred buildings. In the second edition the event grew, exceeding 55 thousand visits and 18 thousand visitors in more than 140 places. The third edition, in 2019, saw 60 thousand visits and 25 thousand visitors, as well as the creation of a web registration system. The event was canceled in 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The fourth edition, in 2021, according to a formula in line with the ongoing pandemic situation, with reservations and capacity limits. The fifth edition proposed a program of one hundred places and was able to count on 30 thousand visits. The sixth edition involved more than 20 thousand visitors for over 40 thousand visits, confirming the interest and participation of the public in Open House Turin.

The objective of the event is to learn about a great common heritage together with the public and reflect on the fact that a city better designed in buildings, interiors and public space is capable of making us live better.

Among the locations open to the public are Villa Bria, Villa Rey (home of the AutoMoto Club), Castello di Lucento, Casa Dora, Casa Baretti, Casa Flores, Villa D’Agliè, Casa Luzzi, Società Canottieri Armida, Palazzo Biandrate Aldobrandino di San Giorgio, Palazzo Nobile Valfrè, Villino Raby, Casa Crescent, Scala Merci Vallino and Cascina Fossata.

To participate you must register at Open House Torino. Reservations will be active from Tuesday 28 May at 9pm.
