Today morning, Monday On May 20th, in the Sala della Colonna of Palazzo Granafei Nervegna, the press conference was held to present the VIII edition of the “Adopt a Monument” project, which it will take place over three days, namely Wednesday 22nd, Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th May, from 10:00 to 12:00.
The project promoted by the Le Colonne Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Brindisi, aims to raise awareness among young generations of respect, protection and enhancement of the historical-artistic heritage of the City.
The intent is to make the children the protagonists of a participatory story, since “only through knowledge of the place in which we live can we rediscover the sense of belonging, an essential element for quality valorization proposals” as underlined by Dr. Anna Cinti, President of the Le Colonne Association.
For Mayor Marchionna, the project fits in in an interesting way in Brindisi’s candidacy for European Capital of Culture, as it will allow an unprecedented point of view, that of children and young people, to be included in the dossier, which will be evaluated by the commission.
During the press conference, the new features were presented, including the new sites of cultural interest included in the project, such as the State Archives of Brindisi and the Castello Svevo and the valorization initiatives of the VIII edition.
Class 4B, address of the cultural services and entertainment of the II SS Ferraris-De Marco – Valzani, developed the theme of the protection of the heritage of the City of Brindisi with a comic created with analogue techniques, developed with digital programs, starting from the graphic ideas of a student, whose imaginary universe, made up of good and bad characters, represents the eternal struggle between good and evil.
The 4A and 4B classes of the ICCommenda SGBosco complex will give life to a Pizzica performance at the Castello Svevo;
The students of the IC Sant’Elia Commenda, through the symbolic adoption of Piazza Sottile de Falco, will explore the theme of legality together with the visitors, supported by a representative of the Guardia di Finanza and the Associazione Libera;
5D Salvemini, iC Centro, will be present at the Sala della Colonna and the Roman excavations of Palazzo Granafei-Nervegna, where their artistic works inspired by the history of the place will be exhibited;
The 2A and 2B classes of the Collodi primary school created a QR code which allows you to access a online e-books to tell in Italian and English the story of the Roman Columns and the Virgilio Staircase, starting from their drawings. Furthermore, the children will stage a conversation between Virgil and Dante Alighieri, to underline the importance of the city of Brindisi in the literary field;
3A, 4A and 5A of the IC Center – Livio Tempesta complex have created a bookmark and some graphic works to tell visitors about historical facts and architectural details of Palazzo Granafei Nervegna, Scuole Pie and Casa del Turista.
