“When she left me, I felt bad, and caught up in the emotions of the moment I sent a few too many messages. I lost my mind“. Between some admissions and many I don’t remember, today in court a 26 year old accused of stalking of his very young girlfriend, tried to defend himself from the accusations. The story dates back to five years ago, when the girl was 17 years old.
The two had met on Facebook and they started dating. For the young woman, the accused had been her first boyfriend. “Ours was a full-fledged relationship,” said the 26-year-old, who for the prosecution, once he left, he allegedly threatened his ex to disclose intimate photos and videos. “He said that those videos were also of him and that he could do what he wanted with them,” the alleged victim had already reported at the hearing. But today the 26-year-old, who admitted having sent the girl 200 messages in a few days, however denied the threats: “There has never been any exchange of intimate photos between us.”
“I never wanted to do anything bad.”, the accused defended himself. “The fact is that I didn’t expect him to leave me, because there was a good understanding between us and I was quite taken. And instead she no longer felt anything. She wrote it to me telling me that she was finished. I remember it well because I was at the seaside in those days. It was September 2019.”
“That relationship wasn’t healthy”the alleged victim, now 22 years old, had told the judge who subsequently, according to the prosecution, would have been bombarded with messages, even threatening ones, and followed to school. According to him, during the months of their relationship, there would also have been one exchange of hardcore photos that the accused allegedly threatened to disclose if she hadn’t retraced her steps.
The girl was afraid, so much so that he was accompanied to school and was allowed to leave early to avoid meeting his ex. “If we don’t get back together I’ll take revenge.”he would have written to her in numerous messages.
“I tried to contact you because I wanted clarification,” the young man justified himself, who in a video contained in the trial documents is seen filming the school where his ex studied. “I sent that video to tell her that I was there, because I wanted to have clarification in person. I never even went to her house. I sent my mother to collect my things that were left from her.”
Today in the courtroom the testimony of a schoolmate of the girl. “We were together in high school and we were very good friends,” he told the judge. “I’ve never seen him, but I knew they were engaged. Only later did she confide in me, when he had sent her all those threatening messages and was waiting for her in front of the school. She was scared of him, very scared“. Hearing adjourned to October 31st.
