The race for car dealers to book cars starts at 10am on Monday 3 June new incentives for cars and other low-emission vehicles . A sort of “click day” because the operation will only be successful if the remaining resources are available (starting from 950 million of the new Prime Ministerial Decree and 50 million of the remainder). The platform, managed by the public company Invitalia on behalf of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (Mimit), can be accessed from the ecobonus.mise.gov.it website.

Reservations may concern the purchase, including through leasing, of vehicles made starting from 25 May 2024, the date of entry into force of the Prime Ministerial Decree of 20 May which remodeled the old incentives and distributed the dowry of 950 million. And until December 31, 2024.

In particular, with a notice published on the platform, Mimit specified that dealers will be able to book incentives relating to cars and those for commercial vehicles, motorcycles, scooters, tricycles and light quadricycles starting from 10am on 3 June. Instead, as regards the purchase of cars to be used for the taxi service or rental with driver (with contributions doubled for those who win the extraordinary competition for the issuing of new taxi licenses and those who replace the company car) and the incentive for the For the installation of LPG and methane systems on cars, the dates and methods for booking will be made known with a subsequent notice.

The procedure and constraints for maintaining the vehicle

From 10am on 3 June, dealers will be able to enter the data relating to the vehicle purchase order, including the indication of the deposit paid, obtaining, depending on the availability of resources, a booking registration receipt. The dealer recognizes the contribution to the buyer as a discount and is then reimbursed by the manufacturer or importer. The latter will recover the sum as a tax credit. In all, the Prime Ministerial Decree puts 950 million into circulation for the various incentives provided. The reservation must be completed, with registration, within 270 days. On the platform you can download the form with the declaration of acknowledgment of retention of ownership of the purchased vehicle for at least 12 months in the case of natural persons and for at least 24 months for legal persons. Also available for commercial vehicles is the form for the declaration in lieu of an affidavit relating to possession of the SME requirements and the form for the certification relating to the carrying out of transport activities for goods on one’s own account or on behalf of third parties. Finally, on the site there is also the form with the substitute declaration made by the buyer certifying the ISEE value of the family unit of less than 30 thousand euros, necessary if you want to take advantage of the 25 percent increase.

The distribution of funds

The Prime Ministerial Decree provides a total of 950 million. 240 million goes to the purchase or leasing of electric cars (emissions between 0 and 20 grams of CO2 per km), a quarter of the total package. With 402 million, over 40%, the contribution to old models with combustion engines or full hybrids (61-135 grams CO2/km) remains prevalent, while 140 million, around 15%, are destined for plug-in hybrids (range 21-60). A portion of the resources of these categories, equal to 20 million, is reserved for taxis with double contributions. The rest goes to used cars (20 million), motorcycles, scooters, tricycles and quadricycles (32.5 million to electric ones and 5 to combustion engine ones), commercial vehicles (53 million), long-term rental (50 million) , installation of LPG and methane systems on cars (10 million).
