Two hours stopped on the train between Busto and Gallarate. Another, yet another, “journey of hope”, along the Domodossola-Milan route: this was told to VcoNews, a newspaper like VareseNoi.it and ilBustese.it of the More News group, by a commuter, exasperated by the frequent disruptions, between delays, breakdowns, dirty and dilapidated convoys.

“Saturday (May 18: ed.) I took the 9.16 from Fondotoce directly to the station. The train arrived at the station on time, but those like me who claimed victory, hoping for once to reach their destination on time and make the change, did so too soon. The first part of the journey went smoothly, then at 10.14 we suddenly stopped between Busto Arsizio and Gallarate. After a while the voice on the loudspeaker let us know that there was a fault on the tracks and that we would have to wait for the technicians to intervene. From then on they turned the air conditioning on to maximum, creating considerable inconvenience for many passengers including me, and we were left standing for about two hours.”

«When we arrived in Milan it was already after 12.40, two hours after the estimated time, i.e. 10.35. Once we all queued at the Trenitalia counter because, obviously we missed the connections, it was necessary to change the ticket. It was another hellish journey: wasn’t it possible to get us to the station with replacement buses? We commuters are expected to do everything and more, with prices rising and not only that, but the service offered is increasingly poor and every time you get on the train in Verbania you have to rely on luck.”
