The story is related to the recent use of the Luc in Manfredonia, after months of closure (see post below).
“It’s an episode that didn’t just happen yesterday or the day before yesterday, but has been happening for a long time. As a representative of disability associations, which have been dealing with these issues for years, we have evidence and testimonies of what has been done for children, the elderly and society. The LUC is not a whim of mine, but it was entrusted to us during the week. The LUC is located in a strategic position, where all children can access easily, a place where wheelchairs can move without problems. There are no architectural barriers, what better place for our activities.”
“I asked myself a question: this city has so many problems, and with the fall of the Administration something strange happened. A Commissioner with a thousand problems thought first of all about closing the LUC. I don’t understand and I don’t want to know the reasons, but being in a situation where you have the assignment for laboratories and then, on the Monday after the Carnival, finding yourself with the LUC closed, gave me something to think about.
Today, after four months, we find ourselves walking along the seafront and see the LUC clean, open and used for political purposes. But we live in this city, and instead of defending and giving priority to real needs, we find ourselves having to exploit a simple statement for other purposes that I don’t want to delve into at this moment.”

“I find it really interesting, educational, social, cultural to REOPEN the LUC and use it these days for electoral rallies! In the meantime, let’s start again like this! Closed for over 3 months without notice with ongoing activities (and what activities) placed outside the door, cylinders changed! The motivations? If I had been a mayoral candidate out of respect for what was done to these kids I would never, ever have used the Luc at this time. The good example is for everyone, and it should be for everyone with respect for everyone. I’m ashamed! Are we talking about disabilities? No better not! There are days there’s no point in talking about it! Today this is not the case.
