LThe Local Police of Modica seized a property under construction because it lacked the necessary authorizations. The Building Police Unit, during checks in the area, noticed a structure under construction on Modica-Scicli and wanted to investigate the status of the works.
He asked for the support of an official from the Urban Planning Office, with whom we proceeded with the planimetric surveys of the structure which then revealed that the building works were in breach of the Building Permit, the authorization of the Superintendence of Cultural and Environmental Services of Ragusa and in the absence of authorization from the Civil Engineers.
In essence, an expansion of the housing structure of approximately 150 cubic meters had been carried out compared to what was foreseen in the authorizations, therefore, in order to avoid that the crime in progress was led to other consequences and it was considered that the area affected by the works falls in an area conditioned by landscape, hydrogeological and seismic constraints, the property was subjected to seizure with the consequent affixing of seals.
Because of this, four people were referred to the judicial authorities, namely the owners and clients of the works on the building, the technician and the legal representative of the construction company in charge of the works.
