Ancona, tomorrow the “ITS Academy-Bridges to the future” seminar

At the “Domus Stella Maris”, Tuesday 21 May from 9.30 to 13.30, we will take stock of higher technological institutes, young people and the job market

ANCONA – A specialized and highly qualified training, which arises from the needs of the labor market and those of the territory and which finds concrete expression through synergies between educational institutions, businesses, universities and local authorities; here is the formula to deal with one of the most urgent problems of today’s society: youth unemployment. It’s about the ITS Academy, an Italian school of high technological specialization or a non-university training institution which can be accessed with a high school diploma. The ITS Academy, born in our country in 2010, are considered real “Bridges to the future”, as evoked by the title of the event organized by the Clerici Foundation, with the patronage of the Regional School Office for the Marche, which will be held at the location “Domus Stella Maris” in Ancona, Tuesday 21 May next, from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm.
The seminar aims to explore and discuss the crucial role of Higher Technological Institutes, understood as catalysts for the development of advanced skills required by the contemporary job market. The attention of the conference is focused, in fact, on the decisive role that ITS courses can play in the transition towards a new form of education, increasingly anchored to an idea of teaching based on skills, updated to the modern dynamics and demands of the entrepreneurial fabric, aimed at training highly specialized young people, facilitating their entry into the world of work.
The organization of ITS courses is managed by the regions, which must annually identify the emerging professional areas that require the greatest contribution of employable professional figures. On an operational level, the courses are held by Foundations made up of educational institutions, companies and local authorities. The professionalizing value is strengthened by the fact that a substantial part of the teaching staff is made up of managers and entrepreneurs who have gained important experience in the field.
The ITS represent the experience in Italy of a professionalizing post-secondary training offer that has much in common with some European realities, already existing in Germany and France. They encourage direct entry into the world of work, respond to companies’ requests for personnel with non-university tertiary education, with practical experience and also allow the continuous training of adults.
In our country the ITS Academies include 6 technological areas: sustainable mobility, new technologies for life, new technologies for Made in Italy, innovative technologies for cultural goods and activities-tourism, information and communication technologies, energy efficiency .
Through a series of interventions by sector experts, institutional representatives of the scholastic and academic world and of companies, this event aims to outline the current and future scenario of higher technological education in Italy, with a particular focus on opportunities that this tertiary and professional training segment offers to young people and the economic fabric of the Marche region. The
The conference is also an opportunity to discuss how ITS Academies can act as a bridge between training and the world of work, promoting innovation and supporting regional and national economic development. Among the scheduled speeches Donatella D’Amico, general director of the Education Office for the Marche, the Hon. Valentina Aprea, former undersecretary of Education and supporter of the ITS law and Paolo Cesana, President of the Clerici Foundation.
