Blu Bar of the Hotel Palace Viareggio – L’Arno.it

I have been frequenting the terrace of the Hotel Palace in Viareggio for a long time and I usually go up to this rooftop for an aperitif, which I always find to be a certainty, both for the service and the location. This time, however, I decided to try a different experience: Sunday brunch.

The Blu Bar Roof offers a brunch at a fixed cost of €30 per person and the price includes a choice of à la carte dish, dessert, water and coffee. Drinks are available separately.

The proposals on the menu are typical of brunch. We can therefore find avocado toast, bagels, club sandwiches and eggs Benedict but also proposals that are closer to our culinary tradition and perfect for a light lunch, such as salads for example.

I tried the delicious bagel stuffed with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and herbed cheese, accompanied by french fries. To drink I ordered an excellent Prosecco.

The sea view enjoyed from the Palace terrace is priceless. On the one hand the Viareggio walk and a panorama that ranges from Gulf of Poets up to the island of Gorgona, on the other the splendid view of the Apuan Alps.

The building, built in the first decades of the 20th century, is in Art Nouveau style. Thanks to a recent renovation, the building has been renovated but, at the same time, has skilfully maintained a magical atmosphere of times past by preserving period furniture and floors.

A special mention to the wonderful blue and white tiles on the roof. Admiring the view you almost have the impression that the terrace, the sea and the sky they are a all one.

But this rooftop is also much more.

In fact, every evening it is possible to access it to enjoy excellent aperitifs at sunset and on Sunday evenings, starting from 5.30pm the evening comes alive with live music.

The location is undoubtedly very beautiful, elegant and refined. In addition to hotel guests, the rooftop is also frequented by locals.

Helpful and very qualified staff. We recommend visiting the Blu Bar Roof especially during the summer. Whether for an aperitif, dinner or Sunday brunch, you will be enraptured by the magical atmosphere of this place.

See you next time with the column on the most beautiful rooftop bars in Tuscany!
