The Sicilian law which excludes tobacconists from the distance meter set for gaming activities has been published in the Gazzetta delle Regioni.

On the Journal of the Regions Today, May 19th, the law of the Sicily Region of January 31st, “Miscellaneous and financial provisions”, is published, which modifies the current rules on gaming.
In particular, the law excludes tobacconists from the application of the distance meter in force for any other commercial establishment with reference to the installation of entertainment machines with cash prizes and the collection of bets within the annexed gaming corner. Furthermore, the law specifies that for arcades equipped with a public security license pursuant to article 86 of the TULPS, for arcades
betting halls, VLT halls, bingo halls and other premises in any case equipped with a public safety license pursuant to article 88 of the TULPS, existing on the date of entry into force of this law, it is not considered a new installation or new opening the change of ownership of the business, the change of the legal representative, the change of the dealer and the change of the company that owns the equipment referred to in article 110, paragraph 6, letters a) and b) of the TULPS. These rules already came into force last February.
