The Umbria Region approves the 2023 general report

The Regional Council, on the initiative of the Budget Department, approved the general report of the regional administration for the financial year 2023: the text which received the green light from the executive, highlights significant results from the point of view of solidity of the regional budget in light of the accrual surplus of over 82 million euros, and the satisfaction of the balance indicators required by law (accrual, budget, overall), all positive.
Despite the inflationary impacts deriving from the economic cycle, the policy of prudent management of financial resources in recent years implemented by the Budget Department has allowed the Umbria Region’s own investments to be fully spent in 2023.
At the same time, the results achieved in recent years and most recently in 2023 allow for the complete definition of previous relationships with the Provinces, as well as the coverage of the costs relating to functions relating to regional roads for a total of resources of approximately 20 million euro, which the regional administration has taken charge of in the last three years.
Furthermore, the results achieved are also the result of the efficiency and containment of operating expenses and personnel costs, unchanged compared to last year, also in order to ensure adequate space for regional interventions in terms of support for local administrations and the economic system.
On the revenue front, the approved document significantly highlights the stability of tax revenues, in particular IRAP, additional IRPEF and car circulation tax, in coherence with regional tax policies based on the invariance of the tax burden and the recovery of evasion.
Also from the point of view of the results in economic-financial terms, the 2023 financial statement represents a positive situation with an operating result of over 75 million euros which testifies to the solidity of the balance sheet ultimately represented by the increase in net equity which passes from 481 million euros in 2022 to over 567 million euros in the 2023 financial year. All this demonstrates the great work done to keep the accounts in order, with prudent and effective management, which has led to good results that have improved over the years.
