Next week will begin immediately with a new strong disturbance heralding rain and thunderstorms in many of our regions. Subsequently, a twist is expected: something at an atmospheric level could unlock.

But let’s go in order. The cause of this now endless bad weather it must be sought in the particular configurational structure still present in central-western Europe. We are talking about a sort of channel within which they flow as if immense atmospheric rivers very unstable air masses that reach the Mediterranean basin from the North Atlantic.

It will be like this again next week, at least in its initial phase: already in Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st May the transit of a first is expected disturbance which will trigger a new phase of bad weather with rains and thunderstorms which will particularly affect the Centre-North; temperatures will also be affected, remaining at rather low values ​​for the period, even below the climatic averages where precipitation will occur the most.
And it doesn’t end here, on the contrary. In the following days we will certainly have more sunny spaces, but we will still have to deal with a certain latent instability: in the Mediterranean basin the atmospheric pressure will be rather low, favoring the genesis, especially during the afternoon hours, Of rains and thunderstorms frequent.

As often happens in this season, this does not mean that the days will be totally compromised by rainfall: on the contrary, these phenomena often last a few hours and then the sun returns (the classic spring instability).
