TRENT. The last emotional farewell to the young Dutchman, Tom Arent van de Plassche, 24 years old, whose heart stopped beating last Sunday after he fell a hundred meters at altitude 3,700 meters on the Ortles, on those peaks that he loved so much.

The ceremony takes place in the secular farewell room of Trento, where approximately three hundred people, including many friends and relatives who came from Holland they gathered for the first part of the funeral. As requested, many brought wild flowers with them, as a reminder of Tom who loved them.

On the side of the windows, however, dozens of photographs have been arranged that remember him happy, in the mountains, during his runs, trail-running and his climbs.

A great mountain and mountain running enthusiast, the young man was strongly involved in environmental activism together with his partner Sofia Farina. All his closest friends and also the Run Trento group, of which Tom was part, express their sympathy to him and his family.

The memory will continue at the Uva&Menta bar of Piazza Garzetti, to celebrate what his life was in a place he appreciated and frequented: «Whoever wishes can bring a wild flower with them for Tom».
