“In Emilia-Romagna there are all the conditions to do well and continue a centre-left government”. Word of Stefano Bonaccini, who is running for a seat in Strasbourg but does not lose sight of Emilia-Romagna and the race that will open for the leadership of Viale Aldo Moro after the European elections on 8 and 9 June. If Bonaccini, the leading candidate for the Democratic Party in the North-East constituency, is elected, in fact, he will have to leave Viale Aldo Moro early, but he will remain available to “lend a hand to the Democratic Party” and to the center-left to win again.

The conditions are there for the Democratic Party to win again well

In Emilia-Romagna “there are all the conditions to win again and win again well”, assures Bonaccini, at the Archiginnasio to meet the governor of California Gavin Newsom together with the mayor Matteo Lepore and to the professor Romano Prodi. For Bonaccini, in fact, although it was not possible for him to run for the third term, “we are not starting from scratch, on the contrary”.

“I believe that there is recognition, as all the polls say, of the perception of good governance for these ten years in Emilia-Romagna”, he states. Of course, he warns, “we have to do things well. I really appreciated – underlines Bonaccini – the path set by the regional Democratic Party, I very much agree with the idea of opening the program factory. Because it is useful for anyone to be able to contribute and have their say, we must always change and innovate.” And above all, the PD governor continues, “because we must extend to society, to other political forces, even to those who do not recognize themselves in the parties but want to bring a contribution of competence and ideas with a new civic spirit”.
