We are experiencing a rather dynamic meteorological phase, governed by one deep cyclonic circulation which is moving from France towards Germany: in the next few hours it will give way to a timid and temporary anticyclonic comeback, but this does not mean that the weather has completely settled.
During Friday 17 May However, we will see the return of more sunny spells in the North, in particular in the flat areas, which have been heavily affected by storm turbulence in recent days.
Saturday 18 May it will be the quietest day of the weekend for much of the country, however there will be no shortage of them rains and thunderstorms: at risk will be above all the Northwestespecially the Piedmontas well as part of the Southin particular Sicily, Calabria And Campania (albeit with rather occasional phenomena).
Otherwise, the weather will remain stable and sunny and the climate will be quite warm throughout the country.
Instead, pay attention to Sunday 19 Maywhen the skies will turn dark again over many areas of Italy: as the hours pass, the weather will worsen over much of the Centre, where we expect heavy downpours and thunderstorms, locally accompanied by the hail, moving towards the South, where they will however be less widespread. Scattered clouds over the rest of the country, with some scattered showers only near the northern Apennines and on the western Alpine mountains. In short, theSummer comes close, while lasting stability does not. And to confirm this trend, here is the next week a new phase of capricious weather is announced.
The shift of the intense disturbance that caused extreme bad weather especially in the North is confirmed: the disturbance is heading towards the countries of Central Europe. Very heavy rain is expected in Bavaria, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
What will happen in the next few hours?
In the next few hours we will still have strong instability only in the North-East, especially in the Alps and Pre-Alps with local thunderstorms; from the afternoon the probability of some phenomenon will also increase on the plains of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Alto Veneto with a hydraulic and hydrogeological situation that obviously needs to be monitored.
What will the weather be like in the Center-South?
In the Centre-South the sun will shine (except for scattered clouds in Sicily) with temperatures above the average for the period: in Syracuse we will have 36°C, we will rise up to 32°C also in Matera, 31°C in Foggia and Lecce, with 30° C widespread over almost the entire south. In the Center we will again reach 26-27°C also in the Capital.

The weekend will start well with a mostly sunny Saturday: clusters are expected only in the south, locally also in Lazio, with some rain in Sicily.
Will it start well and continue badly?
In part it will be like this, as on Sunday we expect a general increase in cloud cover with widespread rain across the entire center and part of the south: the most intense phenomena are arriving in Lazio, Umbria, Tuscany, Marche and Romagna. A Sunday in May which will therefore reserve rainy surprises: after a decidedly unstable week in the North this time it will be the turn of the Centre-South.
