Established over a year ago, the Livorno association “Together for Building” offers its creative, recreational and educational activities to people with all types of disabilities. But in order to be fully inclusive, having its headquarters on the first floor, it needs to purchase a stairlift. Various organizations have already contributed to this purpose with donations, but, not having yet covered the entire amount, the Association has organized for tomorrow, Saturday 18 May, an afternoon with local musicians and artists dedicated to fundraising, and, obviously, invites everyone to participate.
The Social Promotion Association Together to Build it’s a reality Livorno which for a year now has been carrying out creative, recreational and educational activities aimed at people with disabilities.
Founded by a group of parents of sons and daughters with disabilities, it has welcomed since its establishment people with all types of disabilitiessharing the idea that organizing groups of boys and girls with different characteristics can be the path that leads to greater integration between them, but also between the families themselves.
In this first year of activity the Association had to deal with economic and organizational problems which in some way delayed this objective.
The same circumstance that the site of the Association is located on the first floor it does not allow projects to be fully inclusive and accessible to everyone. This is a fundamental aspect, which the members of the Association understand in all its problematic nature.
Determined, and perhaps even a little stubborn, the parents involved in this adventure set out seeking financing to purchase a stairlift which would allow anyone to have access to the activities organized by the Association.
The research is bearing fruit: the BPM desk has already contributed to the project, other donations have come from FAST Cooperative and by the Company Erma Internationalso one was organized day dedicated to fundraising to reach the missing amount to proceed with the purchase of the stair lift.
The appointment is therefore for tomorrow, Saturday 18 Mayfor a “Afternoon of Music and Solidarity” (5-8pm) at the Sacro Cuore School Institute, in via Cecconi n. 27, in Livorno, where they will perform artists and musicians who will make their art available for free.
Musicians of the caliber of will play The GussesThe Yellow Star and the duo Francesco Tedesco & Matteo Banini. The well-known cabaret artist from Livorno will also speak Paola Pasqui, which with its sharp irony will make you smile, but also reflect. There will be a bar corner where you can taste a aperitifbut also the famous Peccioli donuts (Pisa), which they call in Livorno friars.
The wonderful surprise was that many have already contacted the Association to book and participate in the event, donating their contribution. These are friends, relatives, acquaintances, colleagues, condominiums, there are truly many people who want to contribute to this project.
In short, it will be a nice day with one concrete solidarity purpose which the Association expects to achieve within a few months. Everyone is invited to participate. (SL)
