They part ways between Trieste water polo and Daniele Bettini: so says the official note from the halberd association, which will therefore not renew the agreement with the Ligurian coach, which expires on 30 June 2024.

Daniele Bettini has been coaching the first team since the 2018/2019 season and under his guidance the Trieste Water Polo has achieved the best results in its history in the men’s sector. In season 2021/2022 one arrived amazing third place in the regular season and the subsequent one play-off semi-final With the‘An Brescia, lost only in game 3 after a very balanced series during which the halberds were one step away from the championship final. In the 2022/2023 season, Water Polo Trieste participated for the first time ever in a continental club competition, the Euro Cup. It was an exciting ride, ending only in the semi-final in the Italian derby with the Rn Savona. In season 2023/2024, still ongoing, Water Polo Trieste placed at fifth place in the standings and was overtaken by De Akker Bologna in two games in the first round of the play-offs
