We receive and publish the appeal of a mother to the Prefect of Reggio Calabria, Clara Vaccaro, for an issue that has kept the care of Matteo, a child with autism, on hold for too long now.

My name is Angela Villani, and I am the mother of Matteo, a 10-year-old child with severe autism, I have already written to her regarding the final and executive sentence of the TAR of my son’s life plan, for which the municipality of Reggio Calabria is that the provincial company should implement the project itself. On May 13, 2024 at the general headquarters of the ASP of Reggio, in Via Diana n.3, I had a meeting with the general director, Dr. Di Furia, who was very helpful and on behalf of the health company there is full willingness to respect the life plan and the related ruling of the TAR, as Matteo, following another legal proceeding for the therapies, is the responsibility of the healthcare company.
There remains silence or apologies on the part of the municipal administration, which awaits the regional guidelines, but in this case they are of no use since the project was drawn up by the adcata commissioner, appointed by the TAR, and must simply be respected and put into practice.
Dear Dr. Vaccaro, time for a child with autism is precious, and if for the institutions it is irrelevant for him it is vital, because he cannot access life itself.
For years I have been fighting for what is right and not favor or courtesy, and in this case respect for the law, this is a definitive sentence from the TAR.
I ask you with all my heart as a mother and as a citizen that the municipality summons the health company and formally and materially take note of the sentence and proceed together with Matteo’s life plan.
