PD divided and nerves on edge Gazzetta di Modena

MODENA. Someone recognizes that he is a great resource, and that with him on the field there will be an important driving effect also for the local elections, while someone else is somewhere between perplexed and “disconcerted” – verbatim words – for a series of things, a starting from the timing of taking to the field. At the center, however, there is always him: Gian Carlo Muzzarellimayor of Modena for three more weeks, and above all Democratic Party candidate for the regional elections to be held in November. Because the announcement of the entry into the field of the mayor for the Region, which arrived yesterday with an interview with Journalyesterday morning she bounced from one phone to another in the Modena Democratic Party.

THE DEM ARE DIVIDED
And as often happens, the Modena demos were divided. Starting from the appreciation, yesterday morning Muzzarelli received dozens of certificates of esteem and invitations to move forward: the great point in his favor is that of representing a driving force for the party in seven months in which the Democratic Party will be at stake a lot, from the main municipalities of the province to the political weight with the European vote, ending with the big event of the regional elections. Having Muzzarelli on the field already now, is the reasoning that many in the Democratic Party are making, will give an important driving effect to the party starting from the local elections. Another strong point is that of bringing an important endowment of preferences, and therefore of votes for the regional competition.

FROM SECRETARY SOLOMITA TO BONACCINI
Moving on to the other side, there are those who yesterday weren’t exactly in seventh heaven, to put it mildly. This is the case of the provincial secretary Roberto Solomita, who on Wednesday on Journal he had invited everyone to stay focused on the administrative issues before launching the race towards the Region. A message reiterated on Wednesday evening by Igor Taruffi, head of organization of the national Democratic Party and right-hand man of secretary Elly Schlein. In essence, during the regional directorate organized in Bologna specifically to talk about the November elections in Viale Aldo Moro, Taruffi said “no to running ahead for the Regional Council and to self-nominations”. And if on the one hand it must be said that the interview with Muzzarelli was done before the regional management, the reasoning that many provincial leaders of the Democratic Party shared yesterday is that the mayor’s step forward was inappropriate in terms of timing, given that there are 20 days left to administrative ones. A step forward that was not liked – continuing with the euphemisms… – even by President of the Region Stefano Bonaccini, to the undersecretary Davide Baruffi and to the parliamentarian Stefano Vaccari, who yesterday expressed various doubts. With them there are obviously also the dems who are aiming for the regional council: above all Luca Sabattini, who in recent months has built a network of broad consensus among the mayors of the province to aim for the third mandate, but also the deputy mayor of Carpi Stefania Gasparini and the mayor Alberto Bellelli. Moreover, given that Muzzarelli has opened the game, some of them could also break the delay and “launch” themselves in the next few days…
