sanctions confirmed for president and councilors

An “earthquake” whose damage can still be seen today. Just two months have passed since the FIPAV Committee of Modena was placed under commissionership following the investigation by the Italian Volleyball Federation of Rome against the president and several councilors of the same Modena committee. The investigations were triggered by the compensation paid to two resigning members of the Council, Elisa Pedroni and Maurizio Marinelli, among the main organizers of federal activities in the Emilian province.

According to the defense, although the activity carried out in this case was completely free of charge, the compensation would have been paid for the professional activity, a situation that would have been known to the Roman managers of FIPAV. The situation then evolved with the mass resignation and in the last few hours an interesting update in this sense has arrived. The Federal Court of Appeal rejected the complaints of the 10 members involved. These are sanctions that consist of suspension from any federal activity, for between 12 and 14 months.

In particular, in the sentence of May 15th we read this passage: “The personality of the complainants and the role of particular responsibility held by them within FIPAV and this with considerable damage to the image of FIPAV itself and with serious disvalue for the purposes of the federal system. This Court therefore believes that the sanctions imposed by the Federal Court appear correct and proportionate to the respective illicit conduct carried out”.
