The Formula 1 World Championship arrives in Italy for the first time this season. The appointment is in Imola, home of the Emilia-Romagna GP, where the seventh round of the 2024 championship will take place from today, Friday 17, until Sunday 19 May. After the cancellation of last year’s race due to the flood that has affected much of the region, this year the Grand Prix returns to the Emilian circuit of the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari. The 2024 edition of the race, the first European one of the season, takes place a few weeks after the 30th anniversary of the death of Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian driver who lost his life in a serious accident on the Imola track on 1 May 1994 .
The Imola GP
An important appointment in Imola for the Prancing Horse, which will take to the track with the first major upgrade package on the SF-24, after all the other rival teams have already applied various updates on the previous circuits. The great opponent for Ferrari to beat remains Red Bull (and Verstappen) but, after Lando Norris’s recent victory in Miami, McLaren is also added to the great “rival” teams.
