An extraordinary edition, above all, for the grandeur of the parade, which lasted for thirteen hours, from 9 in the morning until late in the evening. And since the rhythms of the parade are known and the Alpine troops parade in rows of nine, the figure of 90 thousand black feathers who passed in front of the grandstand in Viale Roma, in Vicenza, is not too far from reality.
This year too, there was a large participation of Asti people from the ANA Section of Asti, chaired by Fabrizio Pinghin: «This was my penultimate gathering as president – he declared in his speech at the end of the meeting – I thank the approximately 400 Alpini from Asti who are who attended, my close collaborators, the mayors of our province and city who marched with us, the Asti general Marzo Manzone who escorted our multi-medaled sectional banner with me”.
After the ritual toast, the president concluded his speech: «And now – Pighin underlined – let’s think about next weekend with the first Alpine Coordination Festival of the eighth area of the ANA Section of Asti which will be held in Castelnuovo Calcea ».
The twelfth National Assembly of Alpine Rotarians also took place in Vicenza, which chose its presidency by re-electing Antonio Abate from Bolzano to the position of president and reconfirming Giorgio Gianuzzi from Asti and Guido Asnicar from Vicenza as vice president.
The next National Gathering will take place from 9 to 11 May 2025 in Biella, therefore we will return to Piedmont after Asti (2016), Turin (2011), and Cuneo (2007), to name the most recent.
