The charm of museums and villas at night and the opportunity to visit them by paying only the symbolic price of 1 euro. The Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este – VillÆ Institute participates on Saturday 18 May in the European Night of Museums 2024, now in its twentieth edition this year.

The European Night of Museums returns on Saturday 18 May 2024, Tivoli participates by offering four opportunities

The initiative involves museums across Europe, with the patronage of the Council of Europe, UNESCO and Icom, the main network of museums and museum professionals.

The main objective of the initiative is to promote access to culture and art, encouraging people to discover European cultural heritage in an innovative and engaging way.

The cultural event includes the extension of opening hours, with access at the symbolic cost of one euro, except for legal free admissions.

There are many opportunities in the City of Art where you can enjoy three spectacular sites, the villa of Emperor Hadrian, the home of Emperor Ippolito d’Este and its spectacular fountains, and the ancient Sanctuary of Hercules Victor with its associated surprise.

Hadrian’s Villa
Opening hours: 8.15am-7.30pm (last entry 6.15pm)
Evening opening European Museum Night: 7.30pm – 10.30pm (last entry 9.30pm) – €1

Villa d’Este
Opening hours: 8.45am – 8.00pm (last entry 6.45pm).
Evening opening European Night of Museums: 8.00pm – 11.00pm (last entry 10.00pm) – €1

Sanctuary of Hercules Victor
Opening hours: 9.30am – 7.00pm (last entry 6.00pm).
Evening opening European Night of Museums: 7.00 pm – 10.00 pm (last entry 9.00 pm) – €1

At the Sanctuary of Hercules Victor the possibility of making a further exceptional visit.

Mummies and skeletons in the anthropology laboratory

In fact, it will also open on an extraordinary basis the Anthropology Laboratory with guided tour. In this case the number of participants is limited due to the delicacy of the site which houses mummies and skeletal remains from various eras, including prehistoric ones.

In the splendid thousand-year-old setting of the Sanctuary of Hercules Victor, the doors of the Anthropology Laboratory and the adjacent warehouse open extraordinarily, where some osteological collections of international importance.

Access is limited to groups of 25 visitors during the time slots: 8.00 pm; 9.00 pm
