Thanks to the contribution and support of the Ticino Olona foundation, Intercultura has awarded a scholarship to Michele Franchi, a student from Magenta for a one-year study course in Belgium. A first step for the beginning of a new commitment by the Foundation in favor of young students.

The scholarship award ceremony took place in Coat of arms room of the Municipality of Legnano on the morning of May 16th. The councilor for culture Guido Bragato and the councilor for inclusion Ilaria Maffei participated, together with the president of the Foundation Salvatore Forte and a representative from Intercultura.

Michele lives in Abbiategrasso with his parents and two younger brothers and a sister. He also has an older brother who studies and lives abroad. Attends linguistic high school, where he studied English, French and Russian, obtaining excellent results. His favorite subjects, in addition to foreign languages, are physics, history and philosophy. In addition to studying, Michele also dedicates a lot of time to sport, in fact he practices swimming at a competitive level, for which he trains every afternoon. In his free time he likes watching sports competitions on television and being in the company of friends.

From the program abroad with Intercultura, Michele expects «a very positive experience, which can help him grow into a more complete, sociable and cultured person». He doesn’t just expect to improve his language skills, but is really “curious to fully experience a new culture, through getting to know people and their way of life.”
