Civitavecchia: the student network

Municipal. Student network presents document with proposals to candidates: “Here is the city we deserve. Whoever is running should support the ideas of young people”

On Friday 24 May at 5pm at “Think Thank” in via Vincenzo Annovazzi 5, the network of middle school students, the student union, will present its manifesto of proposals to citizens. “We believe that past administrations have not given the right importance to student and youth issues. We demand a change of direction. Civitavecchia must be a place in which to study, grow and work with dignity.” Says Domitilla Orlando, local coordinator of the Middle School Students’ Network.

The document drawn up by the students addresses issues such as mental health, school infrastructure, transfeminism, ecological transition, and is the product of a process lasting several months of assemblies between male and female students from the institutes of the North Coast. The kids analyze the condition of the current city structures and policies, highlighting their shortcomings, propose ideas and send requests to the incoming administration, hoping that they will take a look at it and sign it.

“We invite mayoral and councilor candidates, city associations and the entire population to take part in the event. We want the candidates to listen to the voice of the city’s young people and their requests, making a commitment to carry them forward if they are elected”
