URBINO Traffic has been restored on the Ca’ Raniero farm road, just below the museum cemetery of San Bernardino, thanks to the brisk and continuous work of the Urbino firefighters, who intervened to help, on Tuesday evening, the team of municipal workers and two motorists who, passing over the considerable mud of a landslide that fell from the field above in the afternoon, lost control of their vehicles which ended up off the road without any injury to people.
The water bomb
The water bomb in the early afternoon of Tuesday had created a difficult situation especially for the dozens of residents of the area forced to take uncomfortable alternative routes. All this was due to the water and mud that fell on the road. The recently worked land did not have large furrows for rainwater runoff.
Yesterday morning a new inspection was carried out to evaluate solutions that can avoid further movement of the mud from the hill on these forecast rainy days.
The water bomb caused uncomfortable situations in various parts of the municipal territory where the regulation of the water, due to the intensity of the rain, was anything but fluent.
The most serious situation
Beyond Ca’ Raniero, the most serious situation was recorded in Ca’ Gallo, in the municipality of Montecalvo in Foglia, near the Ca’ Lanciarino school complex, where a private home was literally invaded by mud, again due to the of surface water which, in freshly worked agricultural land, has leaked from the furrows and flowed along lines of maximum slope.
The fragility of the Urbino municipal territory has been laid bare for the umpteenth time.
An effective prevention intervention is needed in regulating the waters of newly worked agricultural land.
