There Formula 1 get back to Imola for an event which, in addition to filling the stands and streets around the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome, promises to involve the whole city. Here is all the latest information on the surrounding events of the Emilia Romagna GP and on the changes to traffic in the city for the race weekend.

Events: the ‘FuoriGP’ arrives in Emilia Romagna

As well as in Monza in last year’s Italian GP, ​​the OutGP also arrives in Imola. The program, presented in the last few hours at a press conference, will include a series of initiatives organized by Municipality of Imola in collaboration with some local entities (among which IF – Imola Faenza Tourism Company) to enrich the experience of Formula 1 fans and enthusiasts.

The program, which will go hand in hand with the events already announced for the initiative “Senna 30 years”will begin as early as Thursday 16 May with the opening of the Fan Zone to everyone and the City Dressing with flags, totems and other F1, “Senna” and “Terre e Motori” themed memorabilia in various areas of the city, including the Historic Centre, the Viale Dante Bridge and the Station-Autodrome axis.

Then, still in the Historic Centre, on Friday 17th the Terre e Motori Village with the Food Village, show cars from BatMobile and Williams, driving simulators set up in the stand of the University of Pisa (participating in the student championship) and two artistic F1 cars painted by Matteo Macchiavelli dedicated to the Toleman and Williams single-seaters Ayrton Senna.

Last but not least, in this area there will also be music and DJ sets by local artists and DJs who will liven up the evenings at the IF Shop and in Piazza Gramsci, Piazza Caduti per la Libertà and in Via Emilia Est.

Exhibitions and other events during the race weekend

On every day, then, there will be exhibitions and exhibitions to enrich the weekend in Imola: in Via Appia we will have the Show Photos Imola from 16 to 19 May 10am-10pm, while at the San Domenico Museum there will be Show Magic from 3pm to 7pm on Friday, and from 10am to 12pm and 3pm to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday (extraordinary opening on Thursday 6pm to 10pm).

At the Municipal Library, then, we will find the Show Documents Autodromo – Seine Friday from 8.30am to 6.45pm and Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm. In Salannunziata, however, it will be held Friday from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am-1pm/4pm-7pm the exhibition “From Ayrton Senna to the ‘Iron pictures’ – Stefano Pierotti: memory and the horizon”.

All this is also combined with other events aimed at sustainability and inclusiveness. The first concerns a series of initiatives in the FanZone and in the Autodromo to raise people’s awareness of the topic, while the second will concern the Awabot Project, with two robots that will assist enthusiasts at the Montecatone, Rizzoli and Sant’Orsola Hospitals, with direct connections with the paddock to talk to the F1 drivers.

Also noteworthy is the great involvement of young people and schools in the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Twenty students from IC1 Schools from Sesto Imolese and Sasso Morelli will act as Grid Kids, 96 students from the Montebello School will take care of the choreography on the grid, while the Italian Anthem will be sung by 26 children from “Il Grillo D’Oro” accompanied by Beatrice Ferrari , violinist at the Imola Piano Academy.

We’ll see on Thursday 16th Stefano DomenicaliCarlo Vanzini, Mario Isola ed Andrea Kimi Antonelli intervene to “The courage to dream”, a theater event that will involve around 400 high school students and whose theme will be passion, courage and the desire to achieve one’s goals. Mobility and traffic in Imola
