ALESSANDRIA – Prefect Alessandra Vinciguerra has formally urged the Municipality of Alessandria to approve the report for the management of the 2023 financial year within twenty days starting today, Wednesday 15 May 2024.
Furthermore, in the text of the act, the Prefect recalled that, if action is not taken within the deadlines indicated, based on what is reported in the consolidated text of 2000, the dissolution of the municipal council.
Only a few days ago, the minority councilors had written to the Prefect to express their concern regarding the approval of the report, requesting the administration of the Municipality.
Budget councilor Perrone’s response was immediate. “There are no conditions to ask for such a serious measure as the commissionership which would effectively block the city. We work for Alessandria not for the election campaign”.
“We thank the Prefect for the attention and closeness he shows to the Municipality of Alessandria by calling the institution to do its duty through a formal warning to approve the 2023 Budget Report, going in the direction we hoped for by warning of the use of the commissioner procedure referred to in the art. 141 of the Consolidated Law on Local Authorities in case of failure to approve within twenty days”. – explain the centre-right councillors.
“We will continue in our commitment to guarantee the transparency, correctness and legitimacy of the institution’s accounts with this administration if it is able or in collaboration with the Commissioner that the Prefect wishes to appoint in the event that the Abonante administration persists in ‘default. – they continue – Finally, we must also remind everyone of the doubt, already noted by us, in reference to the illegitimacy of the appointment of the Chief Accountant for the Municipality of Alessandria which could represent a risk of nullity or annulment of the acts adopted so far. Perhaps the best solution for the city could be for Mayor Abonante to resign, putting an end to the slow and daily agony that began since his election as mayor.”
