TUSCANY — Winter tourism flies to Tuscany, with arrivals grew in January by +67% for an average increase of 18% in the first quarter of 2024 and 21% in the whole of 2023: this is what emerges from the third report of the Tuscan Regional Tourism Observatory, edited by the economics department of Cà Foscari University and published on the Toscana Promozione website Tourist.
However, the increase in arrivals is counterbalanced by a decline in presences, with a shorter length of stay compared to that of 2022, attesting to an increase in hit and run tourism.
The data was also detected monitoring cell phones: the movements of mobile phones have made it possible to trace the flows of tourists, their routes and behaviors in the different areas of Tuscany.

The most popular destination province is Florencefollowed by Pisa, Siena And Livorno. In detail, the most popular tourist areas for holidaymakers in addition to the Florentine one are Lands of Siena, Lands of Pisa, Chianti, Maremma Southern Tuscany And Etruscan Coast.
