ANCONA – On the night of yesterday 15 May the police intervened, around 1.00 am, near via Giordano Bruno where the presence of a person who had entered a motorhome parked in that area was reported.
Once the police arrived on site they found the presence of a man who was holding another subject, the latter of Moroccan origin aged around 30. The police made contact with the requesting parties – legitimate owners of the camper – who reported that while they were on the balcony of their home they saw a person approaching the car park and then fiddling with the camper door and getting inside. At this point the two alerted the police and, in the meantime, went down the street and headed towards their camper. The thief, seeing himself discovered, tried to escape and in the meantime verbally attacked the man who tried to detain him.
Meanwhile, a woman, a friend of the applicants, also arrived and, in an attempt to help them, got out of her car. The young Moroccan then attempted to enter the passenger compartment, pushing the woman who however remained attached to the vehicle and was dragged for a few metres. The man was stopped and at that moment the police car arrived. The woman, who fortunately had only suffered a few abrasions, was taken to the hospital by healthcare personnel alerted by the police.
The young Moroccan was arrested by the police for the crimes of aggravated theft and robbery. The judicial authority ordered his detention in the security rooms of the Police Headquarters pending the validation hearing.
