LIVE REPORT OF CREMONESE-CESENA SUPERCOPPA PRIMAVERA 2

On the successes of Cesenabetween the first team and the Primavera

“The key to success was continuing the work that had been done in recent years with the youth sector and also with the first team last year. Some important additions were made by director Fabio artigianato, who went to repair some of the deflections that we had had the year before. For Spring 2 this year the Under 18 squad was very useful, a squad useful for developing young players instead of letting them go. Most of the boys who won the Primavera 2 championship this year were in the under 18s last year, coached by Campedelli. Last season we put a lot of trust in our young players, in fact we only had four loans in Spring 1 and three in Under 18, but unfortunately, having never played in Spring 1, relegation came. This year Campedelli continued with his team and some additions from the Primavera 1 that remained, winning the championship with four matchdays to go as the first team.”

Cesena Spring

On the goals for next season…

“Next year Cesena in Primavera 1 will be made up of all the Under 19 boys. Together with manager Colacone, we will try to organize the team and strengthen it, to try to maintain the category. I think that between Primavera 1 and Primavera 2 there is an important leap in terms of quality and physicality. We noticed it last year and it’s not easy to deal with. We will also try to give some experience, given that apart from Amadori and Coveri, who made some appearances last year, the others are all having their first experience in this championship.”

On young people…

“Cesena is a club that is returning to its pre-bankruptcy glories, with an important youth sector, because we have a region (Emilia-Romagna ed.) where there are many small entities capable of producing young kids who have the desire to try to get to wear the Cesena shirt. We have important affiliates that work very well and we have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and emergence of some kids every year to bring to our youth sector. This is the secret and the reality of this reason. As for Cesena, in the last two years we have had a coach like Toscano who believed a lot in these young players.”

On Coveri, Amadori and other talents for the future…

“This year Coveri and Amadori have created a very high-performance attacking duo and next year they will certainly start with the retreat together with the first team, to let them savor this experience and to get them used to treading those pitches with the older players. They will certainly also be very important for the Primavera, with Giovannini, Campedelli (son of the Primavera coach) and all the other protagonists this year.”

We thank the Cesena Press Office for granting the interview
