Monza: yes to the via Milazzo plan, but the council is open to changes

There agreement approved by the municipal administration regarding the redevelopment of via Milazzo could leave one open possibility of negotiation in the implementation phase. This is the proposal put forward by the councilor for territorial government, Marco Lampertiwho on Tuesday 14 May, in the late afternoon, met some members of the committee via Milazzo – Manara together with Giorgio Majoliby Legambiente, in the presence of the mayor Paolo Pilotto.

The possibility raised by Lamperti would concern him movement of volumes, in order to reduce the heights currently foreseen in the project. Three buildings, 7, 5 and 3 floors high, should rise on the former industrial area in front of the ancient Cascina delle api.

Monza: possible changes to the via Milazzo plan

The idea is to move the volumes, leaving the overall volume unchanged, to obtain three buildings of the same height. A workaround foreseen on the basis of article 14 of the stipulated agreement, to avoid the construction of a seven-storey building, right in the farmhouse.

The proposal was accepted with favor from the residents and now it will be subjected to the operator’s judgement. «We spoke in a relaxed and listening atmosphere and this certainly benefited the discussion – he explained Anna Pozzi, member of the via Milazzo – Manara committee. The new buildings would be located along the Villoresi canal, further away from our farmhouse. Furthermore, the project also plans to leave the existing greenery intact, with a transfer of 4,000 square meters to the Municipality. We hope that the private sector will accept the proposal and that there will be room for negotiation. While waiting for a response, we asked the administration to be constantly updated on the development of the discussion.”
