CALTANISSETTA – Goods worth 300 thousand euros were seized by the Caltanissetta police from a 46-year-old man who was arrested in June 2021 as part of the anti-mafia operation of the Nissena mobile squad called “La bella vita”, in the gang of the Vallelunga Pratameno district.

The investigations, coordinated by the local District Attorney’s Office, they brought to light the existence of a particularly active mafia family.

The man, who has final convictions for aggravated damage to a car, money laundering, theft, stalking, private violence and threats, he would have collaborated with the leaders of the organization by dealing with the extortion racket and drug trafficking, as well as the collection of money to be used to support the families of the detained affiliates.

Banking and property investigations have ascertained the disproportion between the incomes declared by the man, owner of a used car and motorbike resale, and the value of the goods in his possession.

After the asset assessments, the prosecutor and the police commissioner filed a jointly signed proposal to the Prevention Measures section of the Court of Caltanissetta, who issued the asset seizure decree.

The provision affected all assets registered to the man and those attributable to him but registered to third parties. The seizure concerns nine movable and immovable assets and three financial relationships.
