ANCONA – The future Arena sul Mare at the ancient port is preparing forUlyssesFest and to welcome an exceptional Saturday, next July 6th, with the voice of Malika Ayane and with the big one Skins, singer made famous by the group Skunk Anansie, in the role of deejay. It will be the peak but also the conclusion of the festival dedicated to the culture of travel Lonely Planet which comes to light up the capital from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th July in homage to its itinerant tradition and in confirmation of the ability with which the world of travel can involve different professional figures and a heterogeneous public. Ancona will become meeting point for travellers, photographers, bloggers, authors, journalists and artists, confirming its natural inclination towards openness, as door of the East.

The port is first and foremost a place of work. Setting up this project was very complex because there are many safety requirements. There is harmony with the port authority on every aspect, the Arena sul Mare can be modulated according to production needs. There will be further news soon. No more summers with drop-dead events like in the past, this year the city will not be deserted.” Not only the Arena sul Mare, but squares, theaters and other iconic places will come alive with a rich program to offer citizens and visitors many opportunities for reflection and escape, united by the common thread of the journey. Among the new features of this edition, the preview set for Friday 31 May9pm Theater of the Museswith the Palermo writer and screenwriter Alessandro D’Avenia which will stop for the first time in the Marche capital, offering the public a reflection on the figure of the Homeric hero and on the ability of the myth to positively influence our lives.
In July, in the new space of the Arena sul Mare, in the ancient port, three evenings of concerts they will light up the Ancona nights. Thursday 4 July it will be up to Vasco Brondi who brings his new album to the stage A sign of life, a manifesto of humanity and empathy where sounds and words try to brighten these dark times. Friday 5 July10.30 pm: the evening will begin with the Super Taranta Night and then continue until late at night with the DJ set “90s Fever”. Directed by Antonio Castrignanò and Mauro Durante, Super Taranta brings together the iconic personalities of the world of Salento pizzica. The most loved and well-known artists of Salento music bring to the stage the voice of a territory that makes its local identity a global invitation to meet and share. Saturday 6 Julyfinally, the Arena sul Mare stage will host two extraordinary artists.
