Assets worth 300 thousand euros were seized by the state police from a convicted criminal from Nisse, owner of a car trading company, arrested in 2021 for mafia-type association. The measure was issued by the Prevention Measures Section of the Court, following a proposal from the public prosecutor and the Caltanissetta police commissioner. The man had been arrested as part of the “La Bella vita” operation, for having been part of the mafia family of the Vallelunga Pratameno district. The investigations, carried out by the Nissena Flying Squad, revealed the existence of a particularly active gang in the Caltanissetta area. In this context, the 46-year-old, who has final convictions for aggravated damage to a car, money laundering, theft, persecutory acts, private violence and threats, would have been involved in the extortion racket and drug trafficking, as well as the collection of money, proceeds of illicit activities, to be used to support the families of detained affiliates. Large flows of money emerged which flowed into the current accounts of the 46-year-old and some of his relatives, attributable exclusively to his illicit activity. Seals on nine movable and immovable assets, for a total value of approximately 300 thousand euros: an individual company based in Caltanissetta selling used cars and motorbikes, four buildings and land and three financial relationships.
