Carabinieri General Mario Mori, Prefect of the Republic, founded and held the position of head of the Ros, Special Operations Department of the Carabinieri and was Director of the SISDE, the Civil secret service. He operated with General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa in the special anti-terrorism units and successfully conducted many undercover operations, including the capture of the mafia boss Totò Reina.
