From Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th July Ancona will become the meeting place for travellers, bloggers, photographers, authors, journalists and artists, confirming its natural inclination towards openness, exchanges and dialogue between cultures. UlisseFest – Lonely Planet’s travel festival arrives in the Marche capital, in homage to its itinerant tradition and confirming the ability with which the world of travel can involve different professional figures and a heterogeneous public.
Squares, theaters and other iconic places will come alive with a rich program to offer citizens and visitors many opportunities for reflection and escape, united by the common thread of travel. Among the novelties of this edition is the preview on Friday 31 May, 9pm at the Teatro delle Muse with Alessandro D’Avenia who will stop for the first time in the Marche capital, offering the public a reflection on the figure of the Homeric hero and on the ability of the myth of positively influencing our lives.
In the new space of the Arena sul Mare, at the Porto Antico, three evenings of concerts will light up the nights of Ancona.
On Thursday 4th July it’s Vasco Brondi’s turn to bring his new album A sign of life to the stage, a manifesto of humanity and empathy where sounds and words try to brighten up these dark times. With thoughts, distorted guitars and the inexhaustible desire to escape from the most obvious paths, the singer-songwriter takes us on a journey beyond screens and patterns.

Friday 5 July, 10.30 pm: the evening begins with the Super Taranta Night and then continues until late at night with the “Febbre a ’90” DJ set.
Directed by Antonio Castrignanò and Mauro Durante, “Super Taranta” brings together the iconic personalities of the world of Salento pizzica. The most loved and well-known artists of Salento music bring to the stage the voice of a territory that makes its local identity a global invitation to meet and share. In “Super Taranta” the voices, musicians and dancers who have made the “Taranta” famous all over the world share the same stage to give the public all the magic and strength of a thousand-year-old dance with an ancestral rhythm, for a great party collective.
After a brief change of stage, around midnight the DJs of “Febbre a ’90” take to the console, the party dedicated to the best of the music of the Nineties, which made people sing and dance in those years, as in the decades to follow.

On Saturday 6 July, the Arena sul Mare stage hosts two extraordinary artists.
At 9.30pm it is the turn of singer-songwriter Malika Ayane who will give Ancona one of her few summer concerts, taking the audience on a journey with her unique voice which has conquered everyone with her eclecticism and her ability to range from pop to contemporary R&B up to jazz.
