Regardless of the promotion (the intervention would in fact have been necessary even if Cavalluccio had still remained in Serie C), the Orogel Stadium Dino Manuzzi will end up under the knife. Not immediately, in 2025, but the news is current because in these hours, as anticipated in recent days, the municipal administration of Cesena has approved the allocation of 200,000 euros necessary to carry out works requested by the FIGC in relation to 19 bathrooms present within the plant.
The new toilets, which comply with health and hygiene standards, will be built in blocks inside the steps, serving the guest curve and the Sea curve.
The municipal stadium was built between the ’50s and ’60s, the grandstand and the curves were the subject of a general renovation in 1988 with a demolition and reconstruction project of the old concrete stands to increase their capacity and adapt it to the championships of Serie A in which the Cesena Fc team played. Over the years, the sports facility has been the subject of various extraordinary maintenance and safety measures, to adapt it to the needs of the FIGC and the Prefecture, especially in terms of public safety.
The intervention described, in fact, follows further works, corresponding to a cost of 400 thousand euros, carried out in recent months and concerning the restoration and covering of the external stairs.
In recent months the stadium, which has also hosted international football events (in addition, for example, to the Rockin’1000 concert) has been modernized by refurbishing the electrical panels linked to the lighting system; activation of the sophisticated video surveillance system; adaptation of the fire detection system; extraordinary maintenance of the water-sanitary system of the toilets; maintenance with sandblasting and epoxy primer on the landings and supply and installation of scaffolding for the re-roofing of the five turnstiles accessing the stadium.
