There is a new postponement for the future table between Thiago Motta and Bologna. In fact, the meeting between the parties will not take place before next week. In fact, president Saputo and the coach’s entourage, for logistical and “opportunity” reasons, preferred to postpone any discussion. On the table will be the future of Bologna with Thiago Motta or without. One way or another the rossoblù will have to plan for next season. In the meantime it’s time for celebrations, hugs and thanks.
Known in Canada
The logistical reason is first of all what concerns President Saputo. The rossoblù club number had to fly to Canada for family and work commitments after he, with the managers and the authorities, planned in detail the party for the arrival in the Champions League. He will return at the beginning of next week, it remains to be seen whether already for Juventus or immediately after. But the matter is clear, the situation will not unravel before Tuesday or Wednesday.
The decision table
The choice to wait any longer cannot be just a logistical question. «The future after the Champions League» said Motta. The Champions League has arrived, but immediately after there is Juventus, rival for 3rd place, historic rival of the rossoblù and above all the team most interested in the future of the Italian-Brazilian coach. It is therefore inevitable to take a moment to breathe before sitting down at the table together and revealing the cards. On Tuesday, after Juventus, Bologna will have the classic end-of-season barbecue in Casteldebole. Wednesday, however, could be the right time for Thiago Motta and Bologna to finally sit down at the table and unravel the mess.
The positions
On the negotiating table we will start from two clear positions, at least in the media. On the one hand there is Thiago Motta’s entourage who assures that no agreements with third-party companies have been made and awaits Bologna’s projects, in which he would like to be at the centre. On the other hand, the club has repeatedly reiterated that it wants maximum clarity on the coach’s wishes. Obviously, if an agreement were made with Juventus, it would not be the time to make it explicit and it is therefore appropriate to wait until after the match with the Bianconeri.
Succession candidates
The list of those who could take Thiago Motta’s place, in the event of his farewell, is soon made. To the solution Sarriwhich has emerged strongly in the last few hours, is flanked by the less than solid candidacy of Pegs. Experienced technicians, who have already managed the busy European Champions League calendar, but for whom at least 3 million euros net are needed. Then, there is Vincenzo Italiano than the Champions League, but has known tireless work with the Conference League.
