Livorno – From ball two it seemed clear: Libertas wanted to transform a packed Pala Macchia into a trench, the players put on their helmets and went into battle. Ricci and Tozzi (new to the starting quintet) immediately put their foot down on the accelerator, catching the neroverdi a bit asleep, kept afloat by Siberna’s two triples. Allinei crushes but Poggi brings Faenza back to -3, before the triple from the young Libertassi number 19, which sets the score at 20-14. Jacopo Lucarelli also returns to the parquet, marking his return with a good performance in just 12 minutes of use. He made the first basket of the second quarter. Libertas continues to defend as it knows how, allowing Faenza 10 points in the entire second quarter, scoring 21 and going to the break at +15 (41-26). In the third quarter the Amaranth offensive maneuver stalled a bit; 6 points in just 8 minutes allow Faenza to get back to -8 with the ball in hand. The guests don’t capitalize and Lucarelli punishes with a triple from the new +11. A minute later comes another triple from Pastore which means a new -8, but Bargnesi’s response is ready and, although he is having some difficulty shooting, he scores a basket with a very high specific weight.
In the last fraction the LL stretches and manages, in the bedlam of a Pala Macchia which will therefore be the scene of at least one other series. Congratulations are due to Faenza, a strong and well-trained team, which due to various vicissitudes did not place well in the regular season, but which played a series which in terms of values was worth much more than a quarter-final. Now the obstacle is called Jesi, who got the better of Bakery Piacenza in game 5. Race date and time still to be defined 1.
