Next May 23rd the technicians of Italian Railway Network they will be a Castelfiorentinoalong the line Empoli – Sienato carry out an inspection in the area where one of the properties to be expropriated for the construction site of doubling the section is located.
During this inspection, they will proceed, in cross-examination, with the drafting of the consistency report and the simultaneous placing in possession in favor of Italferr Spa.
These are the latest developments relating to the railway line doubling project Empoli – Granarypart of the strengthening of the route Siena – Empoli.
Currently, the project involves a series of expropriations on the municipal territory of Castelfiorentino for which the company will compensate the owners.
The work includes the electrification of the entire Siena – Empoli section and the doubling of approximately 10 kilometers between Empoli and Granaioloalongside the existing track.
Furthermore, it is expected the elimination of all level crossings on the line and the installation of new equipment for managing train circulation.
The work is expected to be complete by December 2026, with regular service expected in early 2027.
