Taranto, Municipality invests in new accessible and inclusive play areas

Heritage Councilor Marcello Murgia recently announced a new commitment by the Municipal Administration, led by Mayor Rinaldo Melucci, for the creation of additional play areas for children.

This project is part of a broader program aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens, with particular attention to the little ones.

In this regard, with the resolution to contract no. 3441 of 05/03/2024, the Heritage Directorate has arranged the assignment of the supply and installation service of new games, as well as the verification and control of existing games. The project involves extraordinary maintenance, replacement and disposal of obsolete equipment, and the adaptation of municipal areas to guarantee the use and removal of architectural barriers.

The goal is to create not only new play areas, but also accessible and inclusive spaces for all children, without architectural barriers.

The total amount of the contract, for a duration of six months, is €430,000.00 plus VAT, and will be awarded through an open procedure pursuant to art. 71 of Legislative Decree. n. 36/2023, using the criterion of the most economically advantageous offer.

Interested economic operators can participate in the tender either individually or in association.

Councilor Murgia declared: “Our political commitment in favor of children and families continues, with particular attention to the removal of architectural barriers”. With this project, the Municipality of Taranto consolidates its primacy in active and inclusive policies to favor of children, especially in the peripheral areas of the city.
