The Seveso also flooded
In Milan, after the Lambro, the Seveso also flooded with flooding in the Niguarda districts, where Viale Ca’ Granda, Bicocca and Isola are closed to traffic. Due to the flooding, several public transport lines have been diverted or limited, such as tram 7 which does not operate between Via Fulvio Testi and Piazzale Lagosta, and tram 5 which does not pass between Viale Lunigiana and the Ospedale Maggiore terminus.

A man, stuck in a shack, was saved from the waters of the Lambro river in via Bormio, in Milan. The operations were carried out by the Saf fire brigade team, applying river rescue techniques. The man, according to the firefighters themselves, is in good condition.
The A4 between Bresciano and Monza towards Milan has reopened
The A4 motorway was closed for a few hours between the toll booths of Castegnato, in the Brescia area, and Cavenago, in the province of Monza, in the direction of Milan due to bad weather. And the Monza exit was also closed due to flooding. The Rescue Coordination Center of the Prefecture of Milan has been activated for reports of flooding mainly of roads and cellars and to coordinate interventions in the supra-municipal area by seeking alternative routes where there are traffic problems.
Milan, disabled person rescued by divers

Lambro flooded in Monza, schools evacuated
The Monza park was closed due to the flooding of the Lambro in several sections. All accesses are closed except viale Cavriga, which remains open only to vehicular traffic. Due to the risk of flooding, kindergartens and schools in the city center were closed, after having transferred children and pupils to the Municipality or to other structures. The children from the ‘Centro’ nursery school were accompanied to the Town Hall in Piazza Trento and Trieste, the children from the Umberto nursery school at the Arengario, the pupils from the De Amicis primary school were transferred to the Zucchi high school in Piazza Trento and Trieste. The Bellani and Confalonieri middle schools are also closed, as is the NEI city sports centre.
The mayor of Monza: don’t use your car
The mayor of Monza, Paolo Pilotto, invited citizens to travel by car during these hours only in case of necessity. In the next few hours, any school closures and suspension of city markets will be announced, based on the conditions of the Lambro and the intensity of the rain.

Nursery school flooded in the Milan area, children saved
The carabinieri from the Gorgonzola station, together with the firefighters, intervened in a nursery in Via Padana Superiore in Bellinzago Lombardo which, due to heavy rain, was completely flooded. Inside the structure there were approximately 10 children and 6 adults, who were taken to safety, without further consequences.
Nursery school evacuated in the Milan area
The firefighters proceeded with the evacuation of the “Suor Ruffini” nursery school in Masate, a municipality in the Milan area on the border with the province of Bergamo, in the Martesana area. About thirty children were evacuated, partly carried by hand by the firefighters and partly by fire engine.
Violent storm in the Mantua area
A violent storm hit the Lower Mantua area, on the border with Modena, and the area to the west on the border with the province of Verona, causing flooding. The situation in Quistello is particularly critical, where water infiltrations have flooded the local elementary and middle schools. For this reason the mayor ordered the closure of the buildings for Thursday. Several cellars are also underwater. There were also many interventions by the firefighters in Suzzara, Roncoferraro and Castel d’Ario due to flooding of basements and garages. In Marmirolo, heavy rain caused the collapse of a barchessa on a farm, fortunately with no injuries.
Heavy rain in the Lodi area, landslides and flooding
Due to the heavy rain that has been ongoing since Tuesday evening in the Lodi area with over 10 centimeters of water so far discharged on the capital, landslides and flooding have been recorded in several pedestrian underpasses in Lodi. The firefighters, in particular, are working in the city train station to try to free the only pedestrian tunnel currently available for access to the tracks from the water. Calls to 115 also arrived for fallen trees in the capital. The situation is being kept under control.
Alert in Veneto for heavy showers and thunderstorms
