Double medal for Michele Massa

Double medal for Michele Massa at the Italian Paralympic Championships held in San Lazzaro di Savena. Gold and title of Italian Champion in Foil and Bronze in Epee. On the first day of competition at the Palasavena in San Lazzaro, after last year’s title in Catania, the foilist from the Fermo Fencing Academy confirmed himself as Italian champion by beating Matteo Ora of Zinella Scherma Bologna in the final. On the second day of competitions the bronze also arrived, this time in the sword. A great result because confirming yourself as Italian champion for two consecutive years is certainly not an easy task, even more so if you consider that just ten days ago the fencer from the Fermo Fencing Academy was in the operating room for a delicate surgery.

Now just one day of rest then immediately on retreat with the national team in Siena to better prepare for the next world cup stage in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Also in San Lazzaro, two other fencers from Fermo distinguished themselves during the world championship event: Valentina Tentoni, fifth in foil and tenth in epee, and Matteo Marini who in the other scheduled competition, epee for the blind, finished with an excellent thirteenth place.
