The eastern ecological island in Molfetta reopens

MOLFETTA – On Monday 20 May the eastern ecological island reopens in via Generale Amato in Molfetta, completely “redesigned” in its spaces and signage. It returns to full activity at the end of the redevelopment works, financed as part of a project submitted by the Municipality to the PR Puglia 2021-2027 tender, launched by the Puglia Region.
The island will immediately be open continuously, from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6.40pm; on Sundays and holidays from 7am to 12.40pm. «Within the island – explains the councilor for public works, Nicola Piergiovanni – the spaces have been reconsidered and special signs have been placed to indicate the types of waste that can be disposed of and indicate the dedicated area». School children will also be involved in the same project and will be given a booklet which explains in a simple way how to dispose of waste correctly. «I urge everyone to make the differentiation correctly and I take this opportunity to remember that, recently, the council majority – underlines the Mayor, Tommaso Minervini – approved the changes to the Regulation for the application of the Tari, bringing to 65 euro the discount for those who deliver their waste to the ecological islands. The organic fraction also contributes to achieving the objective.”
