Two funded research projects within the Pnrr, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr), were won by the department of Nephrology qualified to transplant Gum of Reggio Calabria, directed by the Professor Francesca Mallamaci.

The first, whose acronym is “Exact ckd”, was presented in collaboration with the University of Ferrara and its objective is to study the effect of a low intensity exercise program on physical performance and clinical outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease.

The second one project, entitled “Lung Ultrasound (Us) Guided Treatment of Heart Failure in Patients With Stage 3b-5 Ckd Patients (Lust 2 Trial)”, was presented in collaboration with the UOC Nephrology and Dialysis of the Hospital Company Saint Anna and Saint Sebastian of Caserta And the IFC-CNR of Reggio Calabria.

Lust 2, an international randomized trial conducted on adult patients with renal failure chronic (stage 3b-5) e heart failurewill evaluate the effectiveness of one treatment strategy guided by ultrasound measurement of lung water on clinical outcomes in this population.

As is known, the projects approved by the Pnrr are considered to be of high scientific valuefor this reason the Gom Management said it was satisfied with the result and wanted to thank the Nephrology department “for the excellent work done”.
