Interviewed by rosy, Alessandro Nestatechnician of Reggianaalso had his say on the upcoming Serie B playoffs and playouts.
PLAYOFF – «They will be totally different matches from the championship. When I made the playoffs with Frosinone (2020. ed.) we were eighth. but then we got to the final and lost against Spezia. The cards are shuffled, you can’t go wrong, they are strange, difficult, very particular challenges.”
Are home court advantage and two results out of three an advantage? «Yes, these are notable advantages for Palermo and Catanzaro: they are the favorites for the semi-final».
In the meantime, Venice and Cremonese are recharging their batteries. «Resting at this time is good for your legs, not for your head: you must always keep your attention high. I think that Vanoli and Stroppa are thinking precisely about this these days, about the psychological aspect, especially in Venice where perhaps there is a bit of disappointment at having lost the sprint against Como and not having finished second.”
Are they the favorites for the A? «For roses I say Venice first and Cremonese second, for the proposed football I say Catanzaro: it will be the loose cannon of the playoffs».
What are the strengths of Venice and Cremonese? «Venezia has physicality and deadly, infallible attackers: in Serie B there are few who make the difference. I like Stroppa from Cremonese, he makes his teams play well and has many decisive players. But I believe that Venezia has something more.”
PLAYOUT – «Ternana perhaps could have done a little more, but objectively the seasonal path is the same, Bari had high expectations and disappointed, but in terms of personnel they are the favourites».
